Dr. Bijie Hu, is Director of Department of Infectious Diseases, and Director of Department of Hospital Infection Management, at Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University Shanghai, China.

His professional accomplishments include being Professor and Senior Doctor for the past 15 years at Fudan University, as well as Director of Shanghai Nosocomial Infection Control Center.

He has played an instrumental role in forming and advancing hospital epidemiology, antibiotic stewardship, infection treatment and control. In 2016 he organized the biggest Infectious diseases annual conference in China.

Since 1999, Dr. Hu has published over 150 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and participated in writing 50 book chapters. His research interests range from managing respiratory infections, infectious diseases in ICH and elderly to invasive fungal infections, MDRO infections.

In 2007 and 2014, Dr. Hu was selected as the President of Society of Infection Prevention and Control of China, respectively. He is actively involved in forming and implementing national policies and guidelines for the prevention and control of HAI in healthcare settings. Through Dr. Hu’s dedication and leadership, a group of young and energetic Infection Prevention Professionals is growing rapidly.
