Dr. Waterer is a consultant physician and medical co-director of Department of Respiratory Medicine, Royal Perth Hospital, Perth, Australia. He is a Professor of medicine in the University of Western Australia.

Dr. Waterer graduated from University of Western Australia in 2003 receiving Doctor of Philosophy Medicine. He experts in sepsis and his major research interests include respiratory and respiratory medicine, tuberculosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He has published more than 200 academic papers that have been cited for over 4000 times (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Grant_Waterer). He has written over 70 reviews and editorials and he is the editorial board of many authoritative journals, including Chest, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and Respirology. He has won many prizes like the Best 5% Reviewer Award of Journal of American College of Chest Physicians in three successive years. He gave more than 40 lectures on international or national meetings.
